Steve Fry, Director of BandsSteve Fry, Director of Bands

Steve Fry graduated from Canton High School in Canton, Oklahoma. He attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Instrumental Music Education. His main instrument emphasis is percussion.

Steve taught at Cimarron Middle School and was an assistant at Edmond Memorial High School in Edmond, Oklahoma from 1996 to 1997. He then moved to Jenks and taught as an assistant at Jenks High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma from 1998 to 1999. He has been the Director of Bands at Edmond North High School since 2000.

At Edmond North Steve oversees all aspects of the program but works directly with the Husky Marching Band, Wind Ensemble and Basket Ball Pep Band. Steve also teaches beginning percussion at Cheyenne and Sequoyah middle schools.

In the spring of 2004, the Edmond North Wind Ensemble performed at the Oklahoma Music Educator's Association Conferencefor only the second time in school history. The following year Steve was voted as an honorary member of the Phi Beta Mu International School Bandmaster Fraternity. Other professional affiliations include Kappa Kappa Psi and the National Conference of Music Educator's (MENC).


Cordell Ehrich, Assistant DirectorCordell Ehrich, Assistant Director

Cordell is originally from Wyoming and moved to Oklahoma City to study with Dr. Kent Kidwell in 2000. He is a graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma with a bachelors degree in Instrumental Music Education. His emphasis is in Trombone but he is proficient in all instruments.

Cordell is also a member of the 145th Army National Guard Band known as the "Governor's Own." He has recently been asked to assist in conducting the ensemble in addition to performing on Trombone, Baritone, Tuba, and Percussion. The band has recently played for President George W. Bush and played on a tour through Washington D.C. with performances at the Pentagon and Guard Bureau Headquarters.

Prior to coming Edmond he was the Head Junior High Director at Carl Albert Junior High in Midwest City, Ok. In that position he received all Superior ratings and was awarded the Mid-Del Schools "Rookie of the Year" award. In the summer of 2004 he joined the staff as an assistant director for Edmond North High School and Sequoyah Middle School. With the Husky Band he is responsible for chamber ensemble performances and assisting the marching band. He has also a jazz program. At Sequoyah he oversees the 7th grade band and teaches Trombone and Clarinet. Cordell consistently works to further is knowledge and teaching ability and is a valuable asset the Edmond North High School Music Program.
